There’s really nothing like a white shirt. Crisp, clean lines, sophisticated. From a crisp white dress shirt to your go-to white t-shirt, there’s just something about white that reads “model off duty.”
Fast forward to months later, that bright white t-shirt is now decidedly less white, particularly in the armpit area. Your real life feels like a Sure commercial from the nineties. You are definitely unsure, but mostly about how to get rid of the gnarly stains that have you going through life like a cyborg. There will be no “high fives” in your near future. Or at least until you figure out how to get rid of those embarrassing stains.
As per usual, we’ve got your back with this DIY concoction that will help to remove underarm stains and other tough stains you’ve managed to create on your favorite articles of clothing.
Step 1: Put your white shirt in a basin, sink or tub with 2 cups of water and 1 cup of vinegar. Let it soak for 20 minutes.
Step 2: Remove shirt from water/vinegar mix and squeeze excess water out.
Step 3: In a bowl, mix together:
Step 3: Lay shirt on a dry towel and spread paste all over stains. Let sit for 20 minutes.
Step 4: Throw shirt in with other whites in the washing machine or into your gentlewasher.
Step 5: High fives all around.
